Hello, my name is Abraham Lincoln, and I will tell you something about my life. I was born February 12th, 1809, in Hardin County, Kentucky. I was married to Mary Todd Lincoln. I had three sons: Todd Lincoln, youngest son; Wallace Lincoln, who died in the White House in 1862; Robert Lincoln, the oldest son, was at Harvard University in 1863. I became President, November 25th, 1860. I also gave the Emancipation Proclamation to my Cabinet. I freed Africans who fought in the War in 1863. I also wrote out six copies of the Gettysburg Address, and five are known to survive all with slight differences, but freed all slaves from slavery and not only in battles. Actor John Wilkes Booth fired the fatal shot, brandishing a knife. Booth leapt from the Presidential box to the stage. At the stage door Booth jumped onto a waiting horse and escaped. I died April 15th, 1865, and now I am buried in Spring Field, Illinois! |
