Bamberg Middle/High School is centrally located on Warner Barracks, and is within walking distance of all post housing. For those individuals residing off-post, safe and reliable bus transportation is provided. Our current enrollment is 225 and we are accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement. The school provides an excellent facility and learning environment, and can comfortably accommodate up to 600 students. New science labs were added to the school last year, and the art room will be upgraded this summer. New for next school year will be separate floors for middle and high school students, as well as separate lunches. The aim is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for those students making the transition from elementary to middle school. To keep up with the increasing demand for more rigorous programs to prepare our young people for college, we have added more AP and honors courses. Our advanced placement courses for next year include AP German, AP Studio Art, AP English, AP English Literature, AP Calculus, and the possibility of AP Government. Through distance learning we also offer AP Spanish, AP Computer Science, AP US History and AP Physics. We will also be offering Honors Literature and World History for 9th and 10th Grade. Additionally, Bamberg high school offers full slate of state of the art professional technical studies courses, which include robotics, engineering, CAD, digital photography and video communications. We also offer a complete Army JROTC program, as well as music, art, drama, yearbook and journalism, AVID, ESL, and special education, in addition to our extensive list core curriculum classes. At Bamberg High School, we have a proud sports tradition. In the fall, our students participate in football, tennis, cross country, and girl’s volleyball. Winter sports consist of wrestling, boys and girl’s basketball, and rifle team. During the spring, our students represent us in boys and girl’s soccer, as well as track and field. We also offer numerous extra curricular activities for both middle and high school students. Our community strategic plan goal is that “All students will improve reasoning and problem solving skills across the curriculum.” The essence of the goal is that students, when presented with a problem, will be able to use reasoning to analyze and interpret information to identify the problem, develop solutions, apply the solutions, and re-evaluate to achieve solutions for the problem within the school and outside of school. On weekends, breathe the air of past centuries and experience the world heritage city of Bamberg. Endowed with one of Europe’s largest intact old town centers, Bamberg is an outstanding cultural and architectural highlight of every tour through Bavaria! Winding lanes, narrow alleyways, baroque and romantic façades and a medieval atmosphere make up the Old Town of Bamberg. Here at Bamberg middle/high school, we are extremely proud of our school, the students and faculty, and our numerous accomplishments over the years. We look forward to you becoming part of that enduring tradition and welcome you. |
