The Vilseck Germany Schools are located in the state of Bavaria, one of the most beautiful in Germany. Bavaria is filled with castles, walled cities, and rolling hills leading to the Bavarian Alps. Vilseck is situated to the north of Amberg and 1 hour east from Nuernburg.  It is a historical town, with a one-thousand-year old castle, century old stately homes, glorious churches, beautiful chapels, and pastoral beauty. 

The Vilseck American community of Rose Barracks is on the southern end of the US army Grafenwöhr Training Area. Grafenwöhr is about 15 miles away and will have the largest PX in Europe. 

Vilseck High School and Vilseck Elementary School are part of the Bavaria District which consists of 23 schools.  

The Department of Defense Schools are a great place for learning. In a recent study Vanderbilt University reported that the DOD schools offer abundant resources   - to include state of the art curriculum, technology and ongoing professional development of staff for student centered learning.

Students at Vilseck HS consistently score above the national average in all core subject areas. The HS has state of the art equipment for its 15 Professional Technical Studies programs. Some of the programs are Video Production, Government and Public Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Management and a new Culinary Arts program. Additionally, VHS offers Advanced Placement courses, honors programs, distance learning opportunities, college preparatory courses, and student assistance programs to meet individual needs.  

Students at Vilseck High School participate in a comprehensive athletic program with a history of championship teams. The sports offered are Football, Cross Country, Volleyball, Tennis, Wrestling, Golf, Boys and Girls Basketball, Boys and Girls Soccer, and Track and Field.

Vilseck Elementary School students score above the National average in  Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
